Palliative Care in your community
In 2009, a group of community members got together to address a shortage of options for residents of our community requiring palliative care. The Maison des Collines palliative care project was born!
La Maison des Collines (MDC) will be a six bed home situated in Wakefield adjacent to the hospital, providing patients with compassionate, high quality palliative care. Our core catchment area includes La Pêche, Chelsea, Val des Monts, and Cantley but we will welcome residents from throughout the West Quebec region.
We need your help to make this happen
To date we have raised over $1.2M!
The community support has been incredible. Donations have been sent in from every area and demographic of our community. Municipalities have been very supportive, companies have made large donations, families have donated in honour of loved ones now passed, neighbourhoods have held garage sales, and children have put up lemonade stands… all in order to make MDC a reality. We are grateful for the outpouring of support.
We need $500,000 more and we need your help to make this happen. Please take a moment to learn about our work and about the fundraising events that take place across our communities. Perhaps you will be inspired to host an event of your own or to make a donation! Or perhaps you will be decide to volunteer your time.
Every dollar counts and brings us closer to our dream of opening a palliative care centre of excellence for the Gatineau Hills.
Thank you for your support,
Dr. David Ian Gold, President, Board of Directors, MDC
